SHIPPING POLICY

When can I expect my order?

Please allow 1-2 business days for your order to be processed for shipping.

We ship from Philadelphia, PA.

Orders which include highly perishable products (meat, cheese, chocolate) will be shipped Monday – Tuesday only, using UPS or USPS shipping service. We will make every effort to ensure that fragile items reach you before the weekend and do not spend extra days in a hot warehouse.

Orders which DO NOT include highly perishable itemswill be shipped Monday - Friday using USPS or UPS standard shipping service. Shipping times vary from 1-8 business days, depending on your location. 

Please note that weather delays, particularly in winter, may impact these delivery windows and polka-deli.com is not responsible for delays due to weather conditions or other natural causes beyond our control. 

Most carriers are also experiencing delays related to high demand and Covid-19 and have temporarily suspended their shipping guarantees.

UPS and USPS do not deliver, and we do not ship, on the following 6 holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Why is my order shipping next week?

Orders containing highly perishable items ship only Monday-Tuesday. 

What is your delivery area?

We ship to the 48 contiguous states in the USA.

Can you ship to my post office box?

We cannot ship to P.O. Boxes. Please make sure you verify that the shipping address is correct and can be delivered to. If you have special instructions, please add them in the comment section when you checkout.

Due to the highly perishable nature of many items, we are unable to ship to APO/FPO addresses.

How much does it cost to ship?

Standard shipping is FREE for orders $125.00 and over (excluding taxes), and just $12.99 for orders totaling less than $125.00.

How are perishable items kept cold during the shipping process?

We ship with frozen gel packs to prevent spoilage on items like cheese and meats.

How will I know when my order has shipped?

You will receive a confirmation email when you place your order. We will also notify you when your order has shipped and send you a tracking number for your package.

If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your junk mail folder and add info@polka-deli.com to your safe senders list.

Does someone have to be present to sign for the package?

No. Since many items shipped by polka-deli.com are perishable, orders are shipped “signature release.” This means that UPS or USPS will leave the package at the doorstep, front desk or gate associated with the shipping address without requiring a signature at the time of delivery. If you plan to be away on the day of delivery, please arrange for someone to pick up the package and refrigerate any perishable items as necessary.

Misdeliveries

Shipments returned due to an incorrect shipping address will require an additional charge for reshipment. We are not responsible for delays in delivery times due to incorrect or incomplete addresses. Shipping charges will not be refunded for late deliveries if the business is closed or not available to receive the package when delivered.
